Landscape & Plein Air Painting
Learn the tricks, tips, and tools that will help you tackle landscape painting!
What's This?
All materials are included—just bring your curiosity and creative spirit! In this class, you’ll dive into painting landscapes from reference but also building up our skills to plein air paint on location! Although materials are provided, Lauren will explain what is needed to paint on your own and recommend her favorite pochade boxes, paints, and other tools! Each session is hands-on, relaxed, and designed to make you feel excited about picking up a brush. Along the way, you’ll build a solid foundation in traditional oil painting techniques. We’ll focus on the essentials—value, color, composition, and brushwork—using clear, logical methods that help you understand why things work, not just how. These skills become the toolkit you can use to tackle any subject with confidence, making your artwork stronger, more expressive, and more enjoyable to create. Whether you’re brand-new or looking to refine your abilities, learning good technique opens the door to more freedom and creativity in your personal style. Class meets on Sundays from 12–2pm, the perfect time to unwind, recharge, and start your week with a burst of creativity. It’s a focused two-hour window where you can step away from the noise of daily life and sink into the rhythm of painting. By the end of each Sunday session, you’ll head home inspired and a little more skilled than you were the week before.

Cancellation Policy
Classes are $45, which includes the Model fee. Because of the small class size, being a small business and the difficulty of finding last-minute student sign-ups to take open spaces, last-minute cancellations within 24 hours will not be refunded or transferred to other dates. If a student can find a replacement for themselves, that will be allowed. Anything before Tuesdays at 6:00 pm will be honored.
