Workshop Summary: Portrait Painting Alla Prima with Lauren Carlo
Join artist Lauren Carlo for an immersive workshop series on painting portraits alla prima from live models. Over the course of four consecutive classes, students will have the opportunity to learn directly from Lauren—a Mayor’s Portrait Finalist, Two-time Oil Painters of America Wet Painting Competition Blue Ribbon Winner, and founder of the 100 Heads Society in Baltimore.
 
This hands-on workshop focuses on:
The Schematics of the Face: Gain a solid understanding of facial proportions and structure.
Building the Portrait Strategically: Learn a systematic approach to layering and developing a portrait.
Mastering Specific Features: Explore techniques to capture the details and essence of individual facial features.
 
Each session emphasizes active painting from a model.
 
Materials & Equipment:
Materials are not provided, so participants should bring their own supplies. A limited number of easels will be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
Whether you’re a beginner painter or a intermediate artist looking to deepen your skills, this workshop offers an incredible chance to learn the art of alla prima portrait painting from an accomplished artist in Baltimore.

The class is limited to 10 students.  The price is $45 per class, $180 total. Includes Model fees.
