About the event
This engaging 5-week series marks the beginning of our in-depth Portraiture Class and Drawing Class, serving as Part 1: Foundations of Portrait Drawing. In this first installment, we’ll dive deep into the essential building blocks of portraiture—focusing on structure, proportion, and the underlying schematics that bring a face to life on paper. Students will strengthen their core drawing skills while developing a solid understanding of the human head’s anatomy and construction.
Following this foundational course, Part 2 in March will expand upon these skills in a focused Rendering Class, where we’ll transition from theory to refined technique. Working from plaster casts, Bargue plates, and live models, students will learn to render with patience and precision—building the discipline and methodical approach necessary to complete sophisticated, long-form drawings.
